Mental Health during the First-Wave of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Examining Perceived Stress among Qatar University Students

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic had a global impact on many different levels including but not limited to economic, morbidity, social… and mental health. Hence, lot of focus was given research health aspect the especially among young adults university students. Accordingly, this study aimed assess whether or students at Qatar University perceived stress significantly experienced an increase in signs symptoms such as depression anxiety during pandemic. Methods: This cross-sectional using web-based survey conducted students, three questionnaires: 1) Sociodemographic questionnaire; 2) Perceived Stress Scale (PSS, stress); 3) DASS-21 (to depression, stress). Results: Our results show that predictor anxiety, following first wave Qatar. There were no significant differences mean scores PSS score between genders, nationalities, having children, year. Similarly issues, family member with issue, testing positive for eating habits did correlate any outcomes (depression, stress, anxiety); only lack exercise correlated anxiety. Conclusion: In conclusion, sheds light effect It also supports evidence high issues therefore there is need develop awareness along interventions promote wellbeing.
